Reinforced Shipping Containers
Important Notice:
Shipping Containers can hold up to 400,000 pounds on the 4 corners combined as they're designed when stacked up on a ship. To take advantage of their designed strength you must run a structural I-beam the length of the shipping contrainer and then put corrugated flooring deck on top of it to hold up the top soil thus transferring all the downward force to the four corners as a shipping container was designed. Line the bottom of the hole with 12 inches of rock then back fill with 3/4" crushed rock. The floor truses will give lateral support to the walls if you use a high cube shipping container like we do. Look at our diagram so you properly install your shipping container if you do it yourself. There are some companies out there that see shipping containers as a threat to their business and try to scare the public into believing that shipping containers are dangerous and will collapse. If you wish to bury them with more than 12" of soil on the roof, PLEASE, follow our instructions and reinforce your containers with the properly enginnered
I
-beam depending on your depth.

ATLAS SURVIVAL SHELTERS can convert high cube shipping containers into underground shelters with an air filtration system or an underground storage shelter for you to hide food and supplies. Our shipping containers are reinfoced with 12" I-Beams on the roof at time of installation with galvanized corrugated tin running horizontally to hold up the sod. All our shelters have an engineer's seal of approval for the way we install them. People who claim shipping containers will cave in or collapse are only referring to the implosion if you are within 1 mile of a 1-megaton bomb. Other than that, they are the most comfortable or all the fallout shelters we make and by far have the most storage under the floor.

We are stocking two sizes - 20' x 9' 6" and 40 ' x 10' 6" for survival shelters. Both sizes of our high cube survival shelters have underfloor storage and 7' ceiling heights. Storage shelters are typically 8' tall, ours are not! We buy only brand new oversized high cube containers to give you the high ceilings.
Prices start at $29,900
